Produce

Rendezvous Farm grows a wide variety of produce from our 1,000 sq. ft. garden and two small orchards, mostly for personal use.  Excess  produce is sold at the Shenandoah Valley Produce Auction.  Our produce includes a wide variety of herbs, strawberries, blueberries, apples, peaches, plums, pears, cherries, rhubarb, tomatoes, sweet peppers, green beans, peas, beets, carrots, lettuce, spinach, zucchini, crookneck and straight-neck squash, butternut squash, pumpkins, watermelon, potatoes, sweet potatoes and cucumbers to name a few.  Each year we experiment with a few new varieties and species.

Our "upper" garden provides plenty of organically grown veggies in this rich loam soil. Another "lower" garden provides most of our root crops grown in more sandy soil. All are free of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

We also grow a lot of our produce as special treats for our horses and free-range chickens.  Chickens love squash seeds and pumpkin seeds serve as a natural wormer for our birds.  And what horse doesn’t love a fresh crunchy carrot or apple after a ride on our many trails.
