Meat Chickens

Rendezvous Farm meat chickens are Cornish Rocks raised free-range on pasture after four weeks of age. The first four weeks they live under the warmth of heat lamps in a spacious barn until they grow enough feathers to keep themselves warm.  Our chickens never receive any hormones, steroids or antibiotics and graze on chemical free pastures.  Some birds are processed at 3 – 3 1/2 pounds, yielding 2 1/2 – 3 pound birds that are cut in quarters for frying or grilling.  Remaining birds are processed once they reach 3 1/2 – 6 pounds and provide nice plump three to five pound roaster/broilers. Rendezvous Farm is a VDACS approved processing facility, so retail stores and restaurants can purchase our products.

All our meat chickens are processed here on the farm under VDACS permit.  Once processed, all Rendezvous Farm chickens are aged for a day or two while being offered for sale fresh, then vacuum packed and frozen whole.  Giblets (neck, liver, gizzard and heart are included.)  Fresh birds are available within two days of processing.  Just give us a call to see when our next processing day is scheduled.
