Rendezvous Farm egg laying chickens are a mix of Buff Orpington, Red Sex Link, Red Star, Golden Comet and Dominique brown egg layers as well as a few Morans, Olive Eggers and Americannas. We have about 200 hens and several roosters that help protect the flock. At night all the birds stay safe locked in a chicken coop. Fox are regular nightly visitors to the farm looking for an easy meal. Early in the morning the coop is opened allowing them to wander the pasture and woods for the rest of day. The birds return to the coop on their own every evening at dark and we secure the door providing another night of predator free living. Rendezvous Farm offers large, extra large, jumbo and super jumbo fresh brown eggs. We use U.S. Egg Board standards in sizing Rendezvous Farm “Rooster” eggs. Large eggs are 2 to 2.24 ounces, extra large are 2.5 to 2.49 ounces. Even though the Egg Board identifies jumbo eggs as 2.5 to 2.74 ounces, Rendezvous Farm jumbo eggs range from 2.5 to 2.99 ounces. Our Super Jumbo eggs weigh a whopping 3 to 4.75 ounces.
